Ways to Remove Unwanted Hair

Everyone, it seems, wants a smooth, silky, hairless body. But, in reality, the human body is literally covered with tiny hair from head to toe. Some people are blessed with body hair that is the same color as their skin. This means the hair is not very visible, at least from a distance.

The Greeks equated smooth skin with being civilized and the Romans and Sumerians, both men and women alike, used different methods to remove unwanted hair. In the past, patients were required to shave before they could be operated on for hygiene reasons but they now found out that is was counterproductive so it was no longer practiced before surgery.

The most popular means of quickly removing clumps of unwanted hair is by shaving. Usually, women just use disposable razors just after they shower. It's less of a bother after a bath; the skin and the hair are both softer and more pliable than when dry. Shaving after a bath also ensures that you can avoid cutting yourself when shaving.

Here's the only reason why small, disposable razors are not fun to use during head shaving: they wear out really fast. When the blades wear out, the edges become dull. Dull metal causes cuts and bleeding points in the skin. You don't have to throw away your disposable razor, though. Here's what you can do: use both.

Laser hair removal works by passing laser energy through the skin to heat the hair follicle to a point that results in the follicle being disabled or destroyed. This is done without the surrounding skin being damaged.

Laser removal: A permanent solution to your hairy problem is laser hair removal. It should be noted that laser hair removal is permanent; selective destruction is used so that the hair follicles would no longer produce or grow hair. Laser hair treatment for the chest can cost $150 to $450, depending on where you get the treatment and how big the area to be treated.

On the East Coast near the nation's capital, fashion-conscious women that like to show off their legs in shorts or skirts can avoid the weekly ritual of maintaining a smooth close shave by having their legs treated at a laser hair removal clinic.

You're not stuck with shaving; in fact, you can buy depilatories if you want naturally/ synthetically derived chemicals to do the hair removal for you. But make sure you get a quality depilatory cream or ointment; some ingredients may cause irritation to the skin. You wouldn't want an allergy just because you want to remove extra hair.

Electrolysis has the formal benefit of being the only approved medical method for the removal of hairs from the skin. This hair removal method is a permanent one so make sure you really want the hairs to be gone forever before engaging in electrolysis.

Another method is plucking hair. This is most often used for a stray unwanted hair found somewhere on the face. Women most often pluck hair along their eyebrow or along their lip line. This can be very painful and does not scale very well.

As long as you do all of your research and are informed and educated, your results will be extremely happy and you will never have to deal with unwanted hair ever again!

Laser Thread Vein Removal Treatment

If you have always envied individuals who can wear shorts or skirts anywhere but you cannot because the embarrassment caused by thread veins in your legs hold you back, you are not alone. Thousands of others are suffering the same problem as you and their legs are also displaying big and small red, purple or deep blue veins like yours. Thread veins affect about 20 percent of the men and women aged 20 to 50 years old.

But here is good news. Thread vein removal is now being done in clinics anywhere. A thread vein treatment specialist can help you understand why you have developed thread veins. Some factors of thread veins may be due to hormones, hereditary reasons, pregnancy, and other varicose-related issues.

Thread vein removal treatment is a complex procedure, so before you decide to go for treatment, it is advisable to find a thread vein removal specialist who can assist you and assess your needs. If your specialist finds that your thread veins are connected to any underlying varicose veins, he will have to treat the varicose veins first to avoid a high pressure of blood flow in the thread veins. If this is your case, you may have to get a combination treatment for varicose veins and thread vein removal.

If your thread veins are less than 4 millimeters in size, your specialist will most likely recommend laser thread vein treatment. This involves having a laser trained in your veins. The energy from the laser produces heat which in turn degrades the lining of your blood vessels. When this happens, the walls of your blood vessels will begin to stick together and seal themselves off. Your body will gradually dissolve the vein. Just like laser hair removal procedures, two or more thread vein treatments may be necessary.

In some people, thread veins are permanently removed but for some, the tendency is there for thread veins to reappear after a successful procedure. Laser thread vein treatment often requires a local anesthetic cream before the procedure because the patient may suffer some discomfort, especially if the veins to be removed are large. After the laser thread vein treatment, you will notice the area red and swollen but it is not painful. Unlike laser hair removal, it may take up to two months before you can see the final result and before any other treatment can be done.

Skin Cancer and Melanomas, Learn the truth about the sun

The sun which provides life on this planet and without it we couldn't survive, has received an enormous amount of bad press lately. Over the last 30 to 40 years we've been told by governments and our health care system to keep our skin out of the sun because it causes cancer

The true facts are the cause of skin cancer does not lie entirely with the sun as there was very little a few years ago and it's been slowly increasing over the last 40 to 50 years. The sun certainly hasn't changed and the ozone layer that protects us from harmful radiation is only a problem over the Antarctic where nobody lives but there is something else that has changed over that same period.

It's the sun, combined with nutritional deficiency that is causing so much skin cancer. It's the irritation caused by the sun burn that will determine where the cancer will take hold, but it's the nutritional deficiencies and other lifestyle factors which is causing it to grow and that's why it keeps reappearing after treatments. The current treatments are not addressing the root cause of the problem and we of course are just blaming the sun.

Many people get skin cancer in areas of the body that don't see a lot of the sun, like the soles of the feet or the palms of the hands. Also the rate of skin cancer is much higher among office workers which are people who work indoors rather than people who work outside. People in western population areas where the skin cancer rate is highest actually spending more time indoors now because of televisions and computers. It is only man and his pets that get skin cancer and it's a modern day problem because of the way we are now living.

The underlying cause of skin cancer is our diet or the reliance of too much processed food and the lack of freshly grown food. Other contributing factors are the use of too many toxic chemicals, many of which are know to be carcinogenic. Also our sedentary lifestyle, which because of it, our built in defence system which is our immune system that keeps us healthy and cancer free has become sluggish. A weak or sluggish immune system will allow cancer to take hold and grow.

There is no mystery about the causes of skin cancer or any other cancer. If you want to achieve a permanent cure, it is essential to eat freshly grown food everyday, most of which have cancer fighting properties, remove all toxic chemicals, and get some exercise. If you are in the sun use some common sense and cover up during the hottest part of the day. Sun screens are not the answer because of toxic chemicals they contain and it reduces the body's ability to manufacture vitamin D which we get from the sun. That is the only way to become free of the disease....for good!

All skin cancers are an entirely curable disease and our modern medical approaches are not the most effective way to heal someone of the problem. They are only treating the symptoms which are the growths themselves instead of searching for a reason why the cancer first grew. It's easy to blame the sun as that allows people to submit to our 3 orthodox treatments of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy which are all money orientated. Also there is nothing in those treatments that will stop any skin cancer from spreading or returning. Treating skin cancer today is a huge industry and the only thing they are not doing is reducing the mortality rate.
